On my last trip to Africa, I prayed I would be able to capture a powerful image of a male lion because Jesus (my hero) is referred to in the Bible as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. I have photographed many lions over the years, but this is the strongest looking male I have ever seen. We found this handsome specimen resting, well sated after a successful hunt. When he looked up at me, his eyes seemed to lock with mine. His gaze was strong and piercing and I could sense his tremendous power. He stared at me for the longest time, enabling me to capture this commanding image. Back at our lodge that evening when I zoomed into this image, I was thrilled with the sharpness I had been able to get with my new 80 megapixel Phase One camera back. You can see in the lion’s eyes the reflection of the safari vehicle I was in as I took the shot.
