Polar Bears and the Rocky Mountains November 2017

Polar Bears & The Rocky Mountains in Canada

29 October to 10 November 2017

Here is your chance for a truly epic adventure with Ken Duncan

to photograph powerful Polar Bears and experience the majesty of the Canadian Rockies.

Because access to the Polar Bears only occurs for a very short time each year, bookings need to be made well in advance to secure our places in Churchill.

That means you will need to confirm your booking - and pay a deposit of $4,575 – before the end of this year.

After that you will have a few months to make your second and third payments ...

... but getting your spot booked is the first thing - and the most important.

We know several people have been waiting anxiously for the launch of this new tour, so it will be important for you to book very quickly.

Our 2015 Canada expedition sold out in 2 days – literally – so please book now!

This will be your only opportunity in 2017 to photograph polar bears and the majestic Rocky Mountains in Canada alongside Ken Duncan.

With a maximum of 18 participants, this small group will ensure you have unlimited access to Ken throughout the tour.  He will be available to answer your photographic questions and help you get the best possible photos.

The official Tundra Buggy™ is by far the best way to see and photograph the majestic polar bears in and around Churchill.  The vehicles are heated for your comfort, but you can also go outside onto the back deck to take photos.

Most polar bear tours include just one day in a Tundra Buggy™.  But you will enjoy two full days out on the ice in search of the magnificent polar bears and other local wildlife.  And the official Tundra Buggy™ will take you deep into the heart of polar country, within Churchill Wildlife Management Area.

We’re going a long way to see these wonderful bears, so we want to take advantage of every possible opportunity. Our experienced local guide will take us to Polar Bear hot spots, with stops along the way at wilderness areas known for Arctic Fox, Arctic Hare and Snowy Owls.

You’ll also have an opportunity to see the famous huskies – to learn about how they’re trained and how they work, and to take a dog sled ride with an experienced local guide.

And to satisfy your desire for sublime landscapes, you will visit the mighty Canadian Rockies with plenty of opportunities to photograph the spectacular mountain scenery and the abundant waterfalls, lakes, rivers and forested valleys.

Emerald Lake, Canada

And of course, there’s also the chance - weather and atmospheric conditions permitting - that you will see the famous Aurora Borealis (alias The Northern Lights).
