Looking at this shot, don’t you just want to be there? Here at Emerald Lake, near Banff in Canada, I felt like a kid in wonderland. So what I have tried to do here, is convey the feeling that you’re really there – as Aussies don’t get many opportunities to see mountains like those in the Canadian Rockies. I didn’t want to focus on one little area, but to capture the complexity of the entire scene. There are so many different elements for your eyes to wander into. The idea of this shot is for you to go on an adventure; to be absorbed into the landscape. We were in Canada in November – a time when the weather is unpredictable. For me that’s usually a good thing, because wild light often produces magical shots.
