Enquire about this Legacy Collection printBoats cling to the safety of the wharf awaiting the return of their faithful masters. I had driven past this wharf many times, and felt in my heart something was there to be captured. But conditions never seemed right, or else I was locked into some other mission of dubious importance. On this day though, everything seemed perfect. The water had become like glass as I went in close to the wharf for one last shot. I opened my shutter for an ambitious five minute exposure. Just as I finished a speed-boat shot past, annihilating the still reflections. Everything has a time. If I hadn't taken this shot on this particular day, I would probably never have managed it. Today the wharf has a different name, and the boats are all changed. It is a reminder that places are transient things. If we don't photograph them today, they may be gone tomorrow.

FAQ & Additional Information
What to know before ordering.
Your Premium Edition Print
This image is one of Ken Duncan’s premium-quality, fine art Limited Edition Prints, and will be produced to the highest archival standards. Each print in this category is individually titled, numbered and signed, and there is a limit to the number of prints available in each edition. For example, the number of the print you purchase may be expressed as 143/300. This is Ken’s guarantee that your print is the only print numbered 143 in an edition of a maximum of 300 prints, worldwide. While some other photographers may offer various editions of the same image in a range of sizes, Ken believes for optimum collectability, there should be only one Edition for each image.
Production & Framing
How is your Artwork Produced?
Attention to detail and quality of workmanship is what makes a Ken Duncan Artwork truly special. Your Ken Duncan Print will be created using the finest archival materials and processes to ensure the integrity of your artwork for generations to come. It will be printed on Hahnemuhle Fine Art paper using Epson Ultrachrome inks for maximum stability, then signed and numbered. Your Artwork will then be sprayed with Hahnemuhle UV matt varnish to maintain the surface integrity and protect against fading.
How is your Artwork Framed?
Your Ken Duncan Print will be expertly framed with your choice of sustainable timber frame. Then it will be finished with lightweight, optically clear, museum grade acrylic which offers 95% protection against UV rays. It will undergo one final inspection, before being securely packed for shipping. If your print is not being framed, it will be carefully rolled with cotton interleave and placed into a cylinder for delivery.
Care, hanging and lighting
How do you care for your framed Artwork?
You should gently dust the frame and the acrylic face of your print on a regular basis with a clean microfiber cleaning cloth. Avoid using glass cleaners or other liquids. If there are any marks on the outside surface of the acrylic, dampen one corner of the microfiber cloth slightly and rub very gently until the mark disappears. We recommend the use of a Ken Duncan cleaning cloth which will keep all your glass and acrylic surfaces dust and static free.
How will you hang your Artwork?
To get the most out of all your artworks, we recommend you install hanging track in your home or office. This is the most convenient and reliable hanging solution for your artworks and allows you the flexibility of moving them around to different spots in your home. The hanging solution we recommend is the Artiteq System.
Each Ken Duncan Artwork is fitted with two D-rings on the back of the frame. With the easy to install Artiteq system, you will not have to worry about drilling holes in your wall or trying to get your artworks level. You can learn more in Hanging Track & Accessories.
How will you light your Artwork?
While a Ken Duncan Print will look spectacular in any setting, we recommend you invest in a lighting solution that shows it at its absolute best. Our friends at 3S Lighting have worked with us to provide a domestic lighting system that is light and affordable and will allow your artwork to shine.
