I love Arizona because it reminds me so much of my Australian homeland. The vast deserts, the dramatic rock forms, the open skies, the magical play of light at sunrise and sunset—it all works together to paint a picture of nature on the grandest of scales. Here at Monument Valley, guided by the son of a local Navaho chief, I was awed by the quietness and by the sheer magnificence of land and sky. I believe the voice of God becomes more audible in places like this. When our hearts are stilled, and our cities are far away, we can hear the Creator speaking clearly to our souls.
