I fell in love with this location. It is without doubt one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen anywhere in the world. I returned several times to experience its many moods, and each time I was rewarded with a different facet of this diamond of a location. On this morning, I arrived at first light and was treated to a magnificent light show as the day began to unfold and I waited for what I considered the decisive moment. This scene has changed little over hundreds of years. The lone pine silhouetted on the headland to the left, noted by Captain Cook in his journals from the 1700’s, stands as a guardian to this exquisite bay. Nature will always outlive our dreams and give us hope for future generations.
