I love the simple majesty of this scene the royal blue of the sky, the glass-like water, and the reflected splendour of the gold-coloured rock. Taken in the late afternoon on a day when the surf was calm, this vertical shot was a chance to capture one of the Twelve Apostles from a highly unusual perspective. The seas here can be wild, rising to pound the shore with Titan-like fury. Over the years these colossal monuments have been the result, sculpted from the nearby cliffs. But on this day there was a truce between the waves and the land. All was quiet along Australias southern shore. It was the peace after the storm.
